Death by Degrees is a 2005 action-adventure spin-off of the Tekken series, starring Nina Williams as she infiltrates a shadowy criminal organization known as Kometa. The gameplay features a unique 360-degree combat system, stealth, melee, and firearm attacks, with the player utilizing Nina's martial arts skills and signature moves from the Tekken series to thwart the organization's plans to develop a superweapon. 
Plot and Setting
  • Nina Williams, a professional assassin, is hired by the CIA and MI6 to infiltrate the Kometa organization during a fighting tournament held on a luxury cruise ship.
  • The organization is suspected of developing a superweapon, and Nina's mission is to expose their activities after her partners fail and she is left to complete the operation herself.
The story progresses to Kometa's high-tech facilities, where Nina discovers their true goal is to use satellites to trigger methane hydrate on the ocean floor, causing ships to lose buoyancy and sink. 
Gameplay Mechanics
  • The game utilizes a unique combat system that revolves around the analog sticks for movement and attacks.
  • Players can use Nina's signature moves, which are combined with firearms and melee weapons.
  • A "Critical Strike" mechanic allows players to target specific vital points on enemies by using a simulated X-ray view.
  • Stealth and puzzle-solving are incorporated into the gameplay, alongside aggressive combat.
