Overview
SingStar Cantautori Italiani is a karaoke-style video game developed by London Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, released for the PlayStation 3 on 1 December 2010.The game is part of the wider SingStar series and is tailored specifically for Italian-speaking players, focusing on well-known Italian singer-songwriters (“cantautori”).

Theme & Content
The game’s key selling point is its selection of iconic Italian songs by acclaimed artists. The title “Cantautori Italiani” signals that the track list is heavily drawn from the tradition of Italian singer-songwriters. For example, the game includes tracks by artists such as Claudio Baglioni, Antonello Venditti, Eros Ramazzotti, Gianna Nannini and others.
Because of this focus, the game is especially appealing if you appreciate Italian popular music culture and want a karaoke experience in Italian.

Gameplay
As with the other SingStar titles, the gameplay mechanics are straightforward and designed for fun social play:

  • Players use one or two USB microphones (or compatible PS3 microphones) to sing along with on-screen lyrics and visuals.

  • The game displays the lyrics and a visual “pitch bar” or indicator to guide your singing in tune.

  • You are scored based on how closely your voice matches the pitch and timing of the original recording.

  • Modes typically include solo singing, duet/versus mode (two players), and often “pass-the-mic” style or party formats where multiple players take turns.
The core gameplay is consistent with the SingStar series’ aim of being accessible and entertaining for a group or party setting.

Why You Might Like It

  • It offers a fully Italian-language karaoke experience, which is somewhat special compared to more generic international karaoke collections.

  • If you’re a fan of the featured artists (Baglioni, Venditti, Ramazzotti, Nannini…), this edition gives you a good selection of their hits.

  • Great for social gatherings or parties where people want to sing familiar songs from the Italian pop/rock tradition.

Things to Consider

  • The track list is specialised — if you’re not familiar with Italian singer-songwriters, you might find fewer songs you know compared to a more global karaoke title.

  • As an older PS3 game, any online or downloadable features (if any originally) may no longer be supported or widely available.

  • You’ll still need compatible microphones to get the full experience; without them you lose the core interactive singing aspect.

  • Because the game is regionally targeted, you should check that your version is compatible with your console’s region and language settings (although PS3 tends to be flexible with PAL versions in Europe).

Track List Highlights
Here are some of the songs included, to give you a flavour of what’s in the game:

  • Gianna Nannini — “Io”, “I maschi”, “Meravigliosa creatura”, etc.

  • Gigi D’Alessio — “L’amore che non c’è”, “Il cammino dell’età”, etc.

  • Lucio Dalla — “Attenti al lupo”
This gives a pretty substantial selection of familiar Italian hits across several big names.
